BOAT RENTAL FAQ’s
What’s The Rental Process?
Book your reservation on our site, by phone, or by email. We require payment in full when booking most rentals.
Sign our liability release form. You can fill it out electronically prior to your rental, or sign one at the dock.
Meet us at one of the public docks for a walkthrough of the boat, and to check it for existing damage.
Return the boat to the docks or a mooring, and we will complete the checkout process at the end of your scheduled rental time.
If the boat needs to be fueled, we will do it for you and charge your card on file only for the fuel - no additional service charge.
What’s Required to Rent a Boat?
The renter and operator(s) of the boat must be at least 25 years of age.
We require that you have prior experience operating similar boats in similar waters in order to take a boat on your own. For an additional instruction fee, we can instruct first-time boaters until you are confident in your ability to navigate and operate the boat.
What’s Allowed on Your Boat Rental?
Alcohol is allowed, as long as the driver isn’t drinking it!
Fishing is allowed. The boats are equipped with rod holders, but guests must bring their own fishing equipment.
Tow-behind sports are allowed, and a water ski tow line is provided. We have rental watersports equipment if needed.
Dogs are welcome on all of our boats, but you are responsible their safety and for any damage they cause.
What’s Provided with Your Boat Rental?
A town mooring rental, for daily rentals. For weeklong rentals, we can help you coordinate storing the boat if you do not have your own dock or mooring.
A walk through of the vessels basic operations, safety equipment, and features.
Garmin GPS / Fishfinder Combo. All of our boats have modern, wide screen Garmin units with navigation charts and sonar.
A waterski or tubing tow rope & bridal. We have both types of tow lines, just let us know which type you would like.
USCG required safety equipment, including enough type II life jackets for the boats maximum occupancy. We recommend bringing your own childerens lifejackets to ensure a good fit.
An anchor, fenders & dock lines.
A cooler for snacks and beverages.
Sea Tow. Services rendered due to the the renters actions will be charged to the renter at $100 per hour.
What’s Not Included in the Boat Rental Fee?
Massachusetts use tax, which is 6.25% of the rental fee.
Fuel. If you don’t want to fill upon return or you are running out of time, that’s okay; we can take care of it for you and charge your card on file. For rentals not in Edgartown Harbor, the fuel to deliver and return the boat to and from Edgartown is not included.
Cleaning. A fee will be charged for cleaning if the boat is returned dirty or trash is left aboard.
Damage. We DO NOT offer insurance for your rental. You may be covered under your homeowners insurance policy. Please check with your insurance agent about adding a rental damage rider to your homeowners policy if you are not already covered.
Online booking fees. Fareharbor (our online booking partner) charges a 6% booking fee. Book directly to avoid paying this fee.
